Covering Kids & Families Primer

Understanding Policy and Improving Eligibility Systems

Covering Kids & Families (CKF) is a national initiative of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation offering $55 million in grants to increase the number of eligible children and adults who are benefiting from federal and state health care coverage programs. Working through broad statewide and local coalitions, this four-year initiative will build on the work and experience of the Foundation’s current Covering Kids initiative (1997-2002). CKF also will work with new eligible populations and seeks to build enduring national and regional capacity to carry on program activities beyond its funding period.
